Thank you to all the men and women who protect us every day. Special thanks to my husband, my father, my uncles and cousins, and TLColson for your service.

I have a future. A future filled with opportunity, with priveleges, and with blessings. That future has been made possible by you, for serving this country with your lives. Fighting for honor and freedom and for a cause that was bigger than yourselves.

Thank you for your willingness. Thank you for your passion and desire to serve this country with your lives and with everything you have. Thank you for answering the call, and impacting the lives of countless Americans for years and years to come.

My prayers are with you and your families. Keep fighting, keep your heads high. You ARE making a difference.

My grandfather served on the USS Iowa in World War II. I used to love hearing stories and seeing photos from his travels. My dad was in the army during the Vietnam era (never got sent overseas, fortunately). Many thanks to the men and women of the military who risk it all to maintain our freedom.

Thank you to the men and women who have served our country and made it a wonderful place to live. The sacrifices you've made will remain in our hearts forever.

Many years ago I interviewed a veteran, Dick Perkins of Richland, WA, about his WWII service. Barely out of high school he enlisted in the Navy and was soon on a battleship in the Pacific. He recalled how he felt the burden of safeguarding the freedoms of others. He felt privileged to carry his portion of that burden. I was and still am amazed at the level of selflessness he and his fellow servicemen and servicewomen demonstrated.

My father, grandfather-in-law, father-in-law, stepfather-in-law and uncle are veterans. They've established a legacy of selfless service for our family for generations to come. "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13.

To the men and women who fight for freedom, Thank you does not come close to the gratitude my family has for you. Your commitment to our country and what it stands for is an inspiration to me. You put your life on the line so that I can live free. Thank you and God bless you.

Words can't describe what you have done for this country and its citizens. My family and I are forever grateful to all of the men and women of the US Armed Forces. Thank you for your many sacrifices - you are loved and appreciated. A special shout-out to my friend Chris who has been through so much. Your 3 tours in Iraq and countless hours in doctors' offices back in the states speak to your resolve and I'm so thankful to call you a friend. Bless you and your family.

I served in Korea and Vietnam (I feel I was in Vietnam for one year, but Vietnam was in me for 30 years (memories, nightmares, etc.) I am very proud to have done my little part to insure the freedom we enjoy. I feel we must also honor the families and friends of veterans, especially who have seen combat or died in war. It must be horrible to be notified that your husband or wife, son or daughter, brother or sister, father or mother, or friend will not be coming back from combat. I hope people in that position make comments here too. Their suffering is a lifetime of pain.

What has veterans done? my husband has served over 30 years in the Army. I am so proud of his service to our country. He is currently on his on 3rd tour overseas and I miss him so much. I am thankful for what he does for our country to keep us safe. Both our daughters served 4 years in the Air Force as well. I also had a Papaw who served in WW II and two Great Uncles who served in WW II. God Bless Our Troops!!!!

Dear Veterans,

I need to let y'all know my feelings and I want y'all to really let every word you read in this letter sink in. It is my voice and I will continue to voice how I feel about y'all.

I know many of y'all are still struggling everyday with what y'all have been through. I know y'all hurt and many are having a very hard time dealing with what y'all had to go through.

Just know that y'all did nothing wrong. Y'all did what you had to do and please hold your head up high and don't let anyone tell y'all any different. Be proud. Y'all wore the uniform and because of y'all we have our freedom.

I will continue to write letters to y'all and let y'all know my feelings.

I received a phone call last month from a Marine who had served in Nam. He was really struggling. I talked to him for about an hour. I told him he did what he had to do and for that he needed to hold his head up high.

Y'all must walk proud. Don't ever let anyone tell y'all any different. Those that say different need to politely catch the next plane out of the USA and go to where they have no freedom.

Everyday y'all need to say to yourself's this. "I have no regrets. I did what I had to do. I served my country and I am going to hold my head up high.

I wish I could have served my country but I was unable to .

I give each and everyone of y'all that served a big Salute.

I want to say thank you to my two sons who stepped up to the plate and offered themselves in the service of our country, to my brother and best friend RB Singleton a very special thank you for your sacrefices, as well as to my other brother in arms Tony Hinds, God Bless you both for what you did for all of us. To my wife Candi I say thank you for your sacrefices, staying with me through the long difficult days and nights after my return from VietNam, I could not have made it without you. Never will our nation be able to thank you properly for what you do for our freedom and comfort, most of the time sacraficing yours. Coming from a BIG military family I have to utmost respect for what you do and will hopefully soon be joining you and proudly wear a US Air Force uniform.

We set aside Memorial Day Each and every year To honor those who gave their lives Defending what we hold dear.

In all the dark and deadly wars, Their graves prove and remind us, Our brave Americans gave their all To put danger far behind us.

They made the ultimate sacrifice Fighting for the American way; We admire them and respect them On every Memorial Day.

What has veterans done? I would love to THANK ALL the MEN AND WOMEN (including my fabulous husband) who have protected us and served our country and also to remember all who have died protecting our country our hearts go out to their families on this memorial day...Thank you!

I would like to take this opportunity to say "THANK YOU" to ALL who have served our country. I cannot say thank you enough for the sacrifice you and your families have made for our country. For me. God Bless.

To the brave women and men who serve in our armed forces, you are truly my heroes. I can not express my gratitude for all you do and your fearless service to this country. You enable us all the freedom to dream, to hope of a bright future in the midst of dark circumstances. You give us all courage. This is what freedom is and what it costs.

I served 22 years in the United States Submarine Service. Long and Proud. I shed a tear EVERYTIME I stand at attention for the National Anthem. The first tear is always for those whose actions enabled me to even have the privilege to stand there in uniform, and now for those still in uniform or in the earth. Shake a vets hand, hug a widow, and congratulate a parent. Without those willing to serve, we would not be here, period.

Thank you for your service. It is because of you we are free. God bless you and your family.

Paid the price for EVERY citizen to live in a country where we are free enough to challege our Gov't, to put food on our tables and a roof over our heads. And they have done this for people in numerious other countries.

as I lay my head onto my soft pillow on my comfortable bed I wish to take a moment to thank all who have given the ultimate gift so that I can enjoy this and thank their families who will not have them to hoid and to spend time with, I have lost an uncle to Vietnam and have had a father who served in two branches and a husband who served proudly as a marine. I have several brother-in-laws and uncles and nephews who have served this great country. No amount of words can express what is in my heart so I will just simply say "thank you and God bless their families"

Thank you for your many sacrifices. You are appreciated more than you could ever know.

Veterans are the good guys who make the best of a bad situation. They are the ones who get the job done. They have made us the leaders of the free world. They've helped us become one of the strongest nations in the world. they helped defeat tyranny on all grounds. They helped restore faith when we needed it. But most importantly, they kept this free country free. Let's just take a minute this memorial day to actually think why we are getting the day ff form school and work. If it were not for these men and women who made incredibly brave sacrifices, we wouldn't be at where we are not. I'm keeping up the tradition of honor when I'm of age, because I know that freedom doesn't come free, and in life, you're gonna have to fight for what is right. It doesn't matter what service you join: Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, Merchant Marine, your sacrifice is unmatched and your service is appreciated. Thank you.

I am a veteran myself. I just want to say thank you to my Dad, Uncles, and other family members for inspiring me to serve my country. I also want to thank other veterans who served and remember the ones who gave their lives.
